Before you bid, make sure you understand the following

A fully itemized inventory of storage unit contents is not available. No auction bidder is allowed to open and inspect the storage unit at any time before or during the auction process. A storage unit is only opened one time by storage facility management, prior to the auction, to visually identify the most notable items, which are listed below, and to take photos to post the auction advertisement. The unit is then locked and not opened again until the winning auction bidder claims the unit.  Lastly, we cannot speculate what the contents are.

We do not go through the contents or the unit itself.

The unit is in the condition the tenant has left it in. This condition is reflected in the pictures shown.

Payment

Payment must be received in full within 24 hours after the auction closes. Call the number above to arrange payment and pickup. We accept cash or credit card. A deposit of $100.00 will also have to be made to ensure that the storage unit is entirely cleared out within 48 hours. The deposit will only be returned when the storage unit is broom swept and empty

Sales Tax

The appropriate state sales tax may be applied to each sale accordingly. The sales tax amount will be specified at the bottom of this ad listing, under Payment Details.

Pickup 

Contents must be picked up ENTIRELY. Vacate storage unit completely within 48 hours of auction close. If ANY contents are left behind, $100.00 deposit will not be returned.

Know which unit you are bidding on

If you win an auction, make certain you know which unit you won. This number will be in the title of each auction listing and in the body of the ad.

Know your Username 

When you go to pay and pickup your purchased contents, you must be able to tell the storage facility manager what your Username is to verify your account and the unit you purchased. Your Username is what you choose upon Registration and what you Sign In with.

What happens if I win? What do I do? Who do I pay? 

Close of auction 

When the auction closes, you will be immediately notified by email if you won the auction in subject property.

How to pay

Payment for the items purchased will be given directly to the Seller (at the address shown above), either in person or by credit card over the phone.

The Location Manager will call you 

A EmpireBoatStorage manager will call you shortly after the auction closes, but you are welcome to call the manager at the phone number specified above to confirm payment and pickup.

Vacate the Contents in 48 hours 

Contents need to be vacated within 48 hours of auction close. Can't get there by then? No problem - just call the office number above to make special arrangements.

Invoice / Receipt

Empire Boat Storage will email you a Sales Invoice detailing the purchase shortly after the close of the auction.

10% Buyer Fee

The Sealed Online Bids' 10% Buyer Fee is separate and in-addition-to the purchase price of the storage unit itself. This can be paid through your credit card on file, or by PayPal under Account / Billing Details located on the web site. Upon auction close, you will receive a Buyer Fee Notification email, which will outline the balance due and how to make the payment. If you do not submit payment, our system automatically processes your credit card for any unpaid balances within 24 hours after the auction closes.

Notice to Buyers: This is to inform the Buyers prior to the sale that:

Empire Boat Storage reserves the right to end an auction at any time during the bidding period. By law, if a tenant pays the outstanding balance up to the close of the auction, the auction must be removed.

By placing a bid, the Buyer is entering into a legally-binding contract. If the winning buyer does not honor the bid and does not pay for the purchased contents, fees will apply, up to the value of the bid placed.

Empire Boat Storage reserves the right to cancel any sale if the bids are, in the discretion of Empire Boat Storage unreasonable.

Buyer acknowledges that he or she is bidding on all items within the unit and all items must be removed and the unit must be cleaned. In the event Buyer does not remove all items or does not leave the unit clean, Empire Boat Storage may charge the Buyer its costs in removing such items and/or cleaning the unit.

When the Buyer has won the unit he/she must use one of two methods of payment: 1) pay cash upon conclusion of the auction for the unit in the amount of the bid plus any percent surcharge to Sealed Online Bids and, unless a valid reseller certificate if provided, tax must also be paid on the amount of the bid. The surcharge percentage to Sealed Online Bids is 10%. 

Empire Boat Storage shall furnish the Buyer with receipt upon payment of the unit contents.

2) pay with credit card in person or over the phone.  

The Buyer must remove all goods within a forty-eight hour period or the goods will become the property of Empire Boat Storage unless the Buyer signs a lease agreement for said unit, and pays the current month's rent in full. Failure to remove all goods or sign a lease will result in Buyer incurring a disposal fee. Buyer is responsible for securing the unit holding such property for the 48-hour period.

It is the Buyer's responsibility to immediately return all personal property, papers, photos, legal documents, tax returns, bank statements, year books, pharmaceuticals, firearms, alcoholic beverages, electronic data containing financial, medical, legal or passport information etc. to Empire Boat Storage  for return to tenant in the future. What else falls in this category? Includes any items that may be priceless to the owner, but of no value to the Buyer.

The Buyer acknowledges that in certain circumstances Empire Boat Storage  may contact the Buyer and request that certain items be purchased back in order to prevent any court action with said tenant. The Buyer also agrees to sell to Empire Boat Storage  such items for (a) the cost at which Buyer purchased such items plus (b) any reasonable actual costs incurred by Buyer in connection with such items.

This agreement pertains to this and all future sales this Buyer attends with any Empire Boat Storage  facility at Sealed Online Bids. Empire Boat Storage reserves the right to refuse bids from any Buyer at future auctions due to failure to follow these rules or any other unacceptable behavior during the auction process.
